| Insect Allergies |
| |
| Allergic reaction to insect venom is encountered in some individuals following stings from bees, wasps, yellow jackets, hornets and fire ants. Reactions may be very severe and life-threatening in some cases (anaphylaxis). Patients experiencing such a reaction should be evaluated, tested, and, if appropriate, treated with venom desensitiztion to reduce the risk of a future fatal reaction from a sting. |
